As the long winter finally bids us farewell here at high altitude in the Colorado mountains, signs of spring and summer abound. Hundreds of grazing elk, budding Aspen and Oak trees, green grass, and longer days are here. Seasonal transformation has always felt special to me. Even in the concrete jungle where I grew up in Brooklyn NY, I’d seek out the trees. Their change would facilitate mine.
Leadership Landing has new growth happening as well that we’d like to share with you.
Updated Brand; New Website! Leadership Landing is entering its 16th year. We’ve marked every 5 years so far with something special and this year is no different. After months of work, we’re very excited to share our rebranding with you. Our new website and services echo our collective hearts and minds: leaderful, expansive, thoughtful, developmental and deliberate. Honoring our intention to support leaders to unite and inspire others, this new look and feel aligns to our message in a new and exciting way. A special thanks to Martha Finney, Windy Waite, and Latitude for all of their brilliant work on this project.
New team member! We’re thrilled to be joining forces with a new team member! Please join us in celebrating the arrival of Venice Blue. Venice brings incredible depth as a coach and consultant after 15+ years of working with some of the most important brands in the world. Venice also brings a unique skill set in the visual arts and applies this talent beautifully to the spontaneous visualization of complex strategic challenges. We’re so happy to have Venice on the team!
New Project Underway! Leading Performance: A Workshop for Leaders, and a skill building session for leaders at all levels. This exciting session utilizes a live chorus and examines the relationship between chorus and conductor as a metaphor for what it means to lead in the workplace. Topics covered are those a musical director and leaders at work must be concerned with: Self-Awareness, Setting the Vision, Creating the Connection, Cultivating Collaboration, Real 2-Way Communication and Introducing and Leading Change. These are all covered in this dynamic and expressive workshop. I have the honor of being both conductor and workshop facilitator for this program. For those of you that don’t know, my musical background runs deep and I am currently serving as conductor for my home town choir, Telluride Choral Society. It’s been a lifelong dream to combine these two passions for music and leadership.
Out in the wild! Lastly, I’m excited to share that on October 6-8, we will be chairing and presenting at an upcoming HR Executive Conference in Scottsdale, AZ. The presentation/workshop will focus on ‘Building a Great Workplace: How Self-Aware Leaders create Self-Aware organizations’. Leadership Landing executive coach Kim Welsch and I first presented this material at the “HR Executive Connect” in Las Vegas in April. We feel that Self-Awareness is perhaps the most important thing a leader can develop. I hope you can join Kim and me in Scottsdale for this exciting conference!
Wishing you a happy and thriving summer ahead!
